As well as maintaining and expanding Mosame’s work with the children of the region, the Mosme Trust also has plans to work with the local adult population to address key issues in Health and Agriculture. These are seen as the principal areas where education and advice is needed and the Trust has ambitious plans, through education, to start to deal with the challenges that face the community.
Young People Gaining New Skills
The young people who have learned skills in building Villa Bambouti have since formed a successful company. With your help we can keep on educating them and giving them opportunities to learn new skills.
Agriculture Development
The Mosame Trust plans to extend the provision of education to local farmers to offer support and technical input in using agricultural resources to the benefit of the whole community. This means planning and planting alternative crops on a larger scale to both provide for the needs of the village and in producing additional crops for sale or barter. Initially the Trust needs funding for the provision of education using an agricultural adviser as well as for the purchase of seeds and plants for the first of the new crops. It is intended that this aspect of the Trust’s work will become self sufficient and, in time, provide a source of funding into other works of the Trust in Cameroon.
Cooperative Farming
An area of land has been allocated to the Trust to start the first cooperative farming in Bambouti village. The farmers are already gathering seeds from various sources and growing plants in pots in readiness of the sowing season.
