The Trust believes that the key to sustainable health improvement is through education, particularly in sexual health matters, and sponsorship is needed to employ a health professional specifically for this task.
There is also a great need for the facilities at the Bertoua hospital to be sustained and strengthened. Working with other local charities facilities especially in the field of microbiology needs upgrading to improve diagnosis and treatment of people who become ill.
Pharmacy
Three in five young people in the region are HIV positive. So far the Trust has been able to provide initial funding to establish a pharmacy, which is now running successfully under the leadership of Dr Josephine Wan and team.

Needed: Health Care Clinic
Such facility does not exist in the village yet. The new clinic will provide basic health care to the local population and particularly women who could have a place to safely give birth in a secure and friendly environment and have assistance and support throughout the pregnancy. Young men and women could have sexual family planning advice to reduce the Aids proliferation which is killing the able population leaving
the kids orphaned. Basic hygiene and sanitation advice will be given through workshops and video.
Importance of Hygiene & Fresh Water
Fresh and clean water supply is still a big issue in the village of Bambouti 6 children died of water disease and malaria last year. Your support for a bore hole (around £ 9000 each) can help improve the hygiene and fresh water supply.
